The spouse of the Delta State Governor, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, has expressed her disapproval regarding the ongoing controversy about the birth of quintuplets in the state.
Her response may be linked to a viral video circulating on social media, which claims that the family has been abandoned by the state government.
The first lady strongly refuted the notion that Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Ogagbe, the parents in question, have been neglected in Ugbori, a locality within Warri South local government area, Delta State.
In a statement issued by her media office on Tuesday, Deaconess Oborevwori described the video as misleading, highlighting that both her office and the Delta State government have already provided considerable assistance to the family.
“Deaconess Oborevwori made a personal visit to the Ogagbe family at their home shortly after the quintuplets were born.
“She was joined by the Chairman of the Warri South local government council, Weyinmi Agbateyinro, and his wife, Roli Agbateyinro.
“During her visit, Deaconess Oborevwori presented the family with monetary gifts and essential supplies. Moreover, she handed over the keys to a fully stocked shop, based on Mrs. Joseph’s request for the type of business she wished to pursue.
“In addition to these gestures, she also covered five years’ rent for a three-bedroom apartment in a suitable and comfortable area for the family,” she stated.

She emphasized that while further assistance calls for the family can’t be completely dismissed, such requests should be made without downplaying or overlooking the genuine and substantial support that the state government has already provided.
Deaconess Oborevwori called on the public to verify information before sharing it and assured that her office remains dedicated to aiding vulnerable families and newborns throughout Delta State.
