Delta First Lady’s Foundation Hosts Free Medical Outreach

The “You Matter Charity Foundation”, a non-profit organisation founded by the First Lady of Delta State, Mrs Tobore Oborevwori, on Tuesday, February 10th, organised a free medical outreach for children with special needs and their caregivers inthe Delta South Senatorial District.

The free medical outreach, which was held at Dom Domingoes College, Warri, was organised to expand access to medical services for vulnerable children while also providing relief to their families and caregivers.

The initiative is a part of the You Matter Charity Foundation’s continued efforts in advancing inclusive healthcare and social welfare in accordance with its central theme, “Everybody is Somebody.”

In attendance were parents, caregivers, health professionals, and stakeholders, including Mrs Roli Agbateyiniro, wife of the Chairman of Warri-South Local Government Area, who was present to support the initiative.

Benefiting from the outreach were children with physical and developmental challenges. They received free health screenings, medical consultations, medications, and other vital support services.

Caregivers were also not left out. Special recognition was also given to them, acknowledging their roles in providing daily support to these children living with physical challenges.

The You Matter Charity Foundation has continuously made dignity and inclusion a priority in its social interventions. Outreach programmes previously organised in partnership with institutions like the Delta State Ministry of Health and the Primary Health Care Development Agency have included the donation of wheelchairs, free medication supply, and educational aids and assistive mobility devices.

In her remarks on the initiative, Mrs Tobore Oborevwori expressed optimism that the programme would extend beyond free medical support into an increased public enlightenment campaign, assisting in reducing the stigmatisation prevalent with children with special needs.

Mrs Oborevwori reaffirmed the foundation’s commitment to ensuring that every child in Delta State, regardless of their ability, has access to quality healthcare services and is not denied opportunities for a better life.
