Delta FRSC seeks media partnership in tackling road accidents 

The Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Delta state Command, Udeme Bassey Eshiet has charged the media to join the fight in tackling frequent road accidents in the state.

Journalists of the Indigenous Correspondents, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Delta State Council paid a courtesy visit to Commander Esshiet on Tuesday, who revealed other possible ways to tackle road traffic crashes within the state.

The Commander said, the media is needed in the fight against ‘Road Traffic Crash’.

“We need the media to join hands to propagate the message of road safety to the general public”.

“Overloading creates imbalance in vehicles, overloading in passengers increases number of death, if there is any crash” Eshiet said.

The Commander advised drivers to be safety conscious, observing road signs while driving and considering animals and users of the road to avoid crash.

Eshiet, encouraged the use of bicycles, noting that it will reduce the rate of death by road accident.

He reiterated FRSC’s mandate on the issue of Number Plates and Drivers’ License of International Standard.
