Delta Government Hails Tantita Security for Safeguarding Oil Assets, Driving Economic Growth

The Delta State Government has applauded Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited for its decisive role in securing critical oil assets and supporting the nation’s economic resurgence through improved crude oil production.

Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, gave the commendation during an interview on The Morning Show on Arise News, where he described Tantita’s operations as a benchmark for corporate responsibility in the Niger Delta.

Aniagwu noted that the firm’s effective security interventions had helped Nigeria’s oil production rise from about 1.1 million to 1.7 million barrels per day, a boost that has significantly strengthened both federal and state revenues.

“Delta State, as Nigeria’s leading oil producer, benefits from this growth through derivation, although we still believe the 13 percent allocation remains inadequate,” Aniagwu said.

“Nonetheless, the federal government and the federation at large are better positioned because improved oil production directly enhances national income.”

He emphasized that the Sheriff Oborevwori-led administration remains steadfast in delivering security and welfare in line with Section 14(2)(b) of the Nigerian Constitution.

Highlighting recent developmental strides, Aniagwu revealed that the state has invested over ₦1.3 trillion in infrastructure within the last two years, covering roads, bridges, and flyovers. He further noted the administration’s consistent payment of workers’ salaries and targeted humanitarian initiatives for widows and vulnerable citizens.

“Our government’s fiscal discipline has ensured stability in education Delta schools rarely participate in national strikes because we prioritize solvency and staff welfare,” he said.

Aniagwu reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the MORE Agenda Meaningful Development, Opportunities for All, Realistic Reforms, and Enhanced Peace and Security stressing that it remains the policy compass guiding governance across all 25 local government areas.

“As we move towards 2027, the Oborevwori administration will continue integrating politics with governance to deliver tangible results and ensure that every Deltan feels the impact of government in their daily lives,” he concluded.
