The Delta State Government has issued a firm directive to all operators in the tourism and hospitality sector to immediately update their registration status and clear outstanding renewal fees for the 2025 operational year.
The announcement was made by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, where the Honourable Commissioner, Dr. Darlington Nnamdi Ijeh, stressed that the compliance order applies to all categories of establishments hotels, motels, guest houses, restaurants, fast food outlets, tour operators, travel agencies, amusement parks, gardens, nightclubs, and other related businesses operating within the state.
According to the ministry, any operator who fails to comply with the directive will face strict sanctions, including the sealing of affected premises, as empowered by existing state laws and regulatory frameworks.
“The cooperation of all stakeholders in ensuring full compliance is hereby solicited,” Dr. Ijeh stated. “This notice serves as an official reminder to all concerned operators to update their registration with the Delta State Tourism Board.”
The move forms part of the state government’s broader efforts to enhance regulation, sanitize the sector, and ensure that all tourism and hospitality businesses operate within the legal framework set by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
Establishments have been advised to visit the Delta State Tourism Board promptly to complete their registration or renewal processes and avoid penalties that may disrupt their operations.
