Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori joined mourners at St. Malachi Catholic Church, Sapele, for the funeral Mass of former Seaboard Group HR Executive Director, Temiwumi Jemide.
In a tribute delivered at the service, on Friday, the Governor hailed Jemide as a man of integrity, humility, and service, describing him as a family pillar whose values left “a lasting imprint” on those around him.
Speaking to the widow and children, Oborevwori offered condolences and prayers for strength, noting the couple’s nearly four decades of marriage.
“It’s not about the years lived, but the lives touched,” he said, quoting 2 Timothy 4:7 to liken Jemide’s life to one of endurance and faith.
Rev. Fr. Raphael Ogigba, delivering the homily, remembered Jemide as a philanthropist and faithful Christian whose life “was a gift to others.” He urged attendees to embrace humility, forgiveness, and service, stressing that “the real tragedy is not dying young, but dying unprepared.”
The priest also commended the Governor for honouring the occasion and praised his commitment to Delta’s infrastructure growth, praying for wisdom to sustain his leadership.
The service featured tributes, prayers, and solemn reflections on Jemide’s life and legacy.
