Delta govt approves new name for Urban Renewal Ministry

The Delta State Government has approved the renaming of the Ministry of Urban Renewal to Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Renewal.

The renaming comes in alignment with the recently passed Delta State Physical Planning and Urban Renewal Law, 2024.

This decision reflects the governments commitment to improving urban living across the state.

The state government in a statement, directed all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), to comply with the change, as they continue to discharge their duties under the renewed mandate.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Renewal, Engr Michael Anoka FNSE, has also been commended for his proactive leadership. Under his stewardship, the Ministry is already charting a path toward smarter cities and modern planning that reflect the realities of modern-day urbanization.
