The Delta State Government has been applauded for its unwavering commitment to workers’ welfare, following the recent promotion of 85 top and middle management staff of the Delta State House of Assembly Service Commission.
The exercise, concluded in January 2026, drew glowing tributes from key stakeholders who described it as a morale-boosting masterstroke that will enhance productivity and legislative efficiency.
Chairman of the Commission, Mr. Sunday Ebiriere, declared on Wednesday 28 January that the promotion was a sacred core mandate and a powerful instrument for driving staff motivation, efficiency, and quality service delivery.
“Promotion is not just routine paperwork; it is a vital tool for energising personnel and sharpening efficiency in legislative support services,” Ebiriere stated emphatically.
“Motivated staff deliver superior output, directly fortifying the lawmaking process of the Delta State House of Assembly.”

He credited the success to Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori’s flagship MORE Agenda, which he said continues to unlock opportunities for Deltans—with Assembly Commission workers reaping direct benefits.
Ebiriere charged the newly elevated officers to reciprocate the goodwill through dedicated, professional, and result-oriented service to the state.
He reserved special commendation for Governor Oborevwori and Speaker Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor for swiftly approving and funding the exercise, while saluting commission members for their united push to strengthen the legislative arm.
“The commission remains steadfast in constructing a formidable legislative bureaucracy that will make lawmaking more seamless and goal-driven,” he assured.
Secretary Barrister Austin Nwasike reinforced the pledge to sustain a worker-friendly environment, stressing that regular promotions are essential for morale and output, with fresh welfare incentives already on the way.
Chairman of the Delta State Chapter of the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASSAN), Comrade Timi Appah, joined the chorus of praise.
“Under this administration, staff have not been short-changed. Workers are fired up, highly motivated, and poised to deliver peak performance,” Appah declared.
