Delta Govt Lauds Contractor Over Progress on Emevor–Orogun Road

The Delta State Government has praised the contractor in charge of the Emevor–Orogun Road Phase II project for the quality of work and the steady progress made so far.

The commendation came after officials inspected the project in Isoko North as well as the Amai–Aragba Road in Ukwuani Local Government Area.

Speaking during the inspection, Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Charles Aniagwu, said the contractor, Emo Rock Concepts Limited, has demonstrated strong technical capacity in handling the project. According to him, the standard of work on the road matches what is typically delivered by many international construction companies.

Aniagwu noted that this level of performance encourages the state government to continue awarding major infrastructure projects to capable indigenous contractors. He also reaffirmed that the administration of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori remains focused on ensuring contractors deliver durable projects that will serve communities for many years.

He further explained that the road was designed with the swampy nature of the area in mind. To address this, the construction includes retaining walls and raises the road above the natural ground level, using more than two metres of sharp sand to help prevent flooding.
