The Head of Service of Delta State, Dr. Mininim Oseji, has described the recent cascading of lessons from the Seven Weekend Senior Management Training Programme as a resounding success.
Speaking at the well-attended session, Dr Oseji commended facilitators Engineer Osunde Ikechukwu and Mrs Ufuoma Ojoma for their insightful delivery of critical topics: Management Concepts and Practices, Understanding Management Dynamics, Decision Making and Problem Solving in Management, Management in a Changing Environment, and the Four Pillars of Management Functions.
While praising the relevance of the presentations, Dr. Oseji said the training demonstrates the state’s resolve to get maximum value from every capacity-building investment.
She advised future sessions to incorporate more real-life, practical examples to make some of the abstract management principles easier to understand and apply on the job.
The event which drew strong participation from Permanent Secretary Wilson Chukwuka and directors across ministries, reflected Delta State’s sustained push to institutionalize continuous professional development in the civil service.
The just-concluded 7 Weekend Senior Management Training Programme is the 21st edition held to further improve the performance of senior management Officials. Some of the officials who participated said that their focus has now shifted to translating the acquired knowledge into measurable improvements in public-sector efficiency and service delivery.
