The Head of Service of Delta State, Dr Mininim Oseji, has lauded civil servants for their unwavering dedication and immense contributions to the growth and development of the state’s workforce.
Dr Oseji who gave the commendation in Asaba while declaring open a two-day Pre-Retirement Training Programme organised for officers due for retirement in 2025 and 2026, described retirement as “a new beginning and an opportunity to explore new horizons and pursue long-held passions.”
The Head of Service urged participants to approach the next phase of life with optimism and preparedness.
The capacity-building workshop focused on critical post-retirement areas, including personal financial planning, entrepreneurship, time management, and wellness, to ensure retirees transit smoothly and confidently into private life.
Dr Oseji expressed profound gratitude to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his unwavering support for the programme, stressing that the training reflects the administration’s commitment to the welfare of workers even after active service.
She charged participants to participate actively, network with colleagues, and create lasting memories while acquiring the knowledge and skills needed for a fulfilling retirement.
In their separate goodwill messages, the Acting Permanent Secretary, Directorate of Establishments and Pensions, Mr Kingsley Olomukoro, and the Principal Consultant, De-Daf and Associates, Engr. Esedafe Solomon, urged participants to take the training seriously.
They noted that early planning remains key to a secured and purposeful retirement, advising attendees to listen attentively and engage fully in sessions on financial literacy and entrepreneurial development.
The well-attended programme underscored Delta State’s proactive approach to preparing its workforce for life after public service.
