Delta IRS Sets Up Teams to Drive N104bn Revenue Target

The Executive Chairman of Delta State Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Honourable Solomon Ighrakpata has inaugurated four revenue service committees.

Hon. Ighrakpata after inaugurating the committees charged the chairmen and members of the committees to bring their creativity, professionalism and wealth of experience to bear on their new assignment

While thanking staff of the service for the achievements so far recorded he disclosed that DSIRS as at June this year has generated one hundred and four billion naira revenue and expressed confidence that the set target for the year would be met.

Those inaugurated included Dr. Frank Nwugo as chairman of the Committee on New Tax Acts and Honourable Collins Iwelumor as chairman of Committee on Tax Awareness Campaign.

Honourable Solomon Ighrakpata urged the chairmen and members of the four committees to come up with innovative ideas on how to create an effective and efficient tax system that hinges on fairness, adequacy, simplicity, transparency and administrative ease.

He stated that such revenues were needed by the administration of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to execute and complete projects and achieve its MORE Agenda

In their separate responses, Dr. Frank Nwugo who is the Executive Director Operations and chairman of some of the committees and Honourable Collins Iwelumor who heads the Committee on Tax Awareness Campaign assured of delivery of quality reports to achieve set goals.

The newly approved Nigerian Tax Acts of 2025 is expected to go into effect 1st January,2026 and the Committees are to carry out critical and comprehensive review in light of the New Tax Acts.
