The Delta State Ministry of Secondary Education has instructed both teaching and non-teaching staff in all public secondary schools across the state to submit essential personal records within 48 hours.
The directive, issued by the Permanent Secretary on behalf of the Commissioner for Secondary Education, Dr. Kingsley Ashibogwu, requires staff to provide copies of their initial appointment letter, their last three promotion letters, and their most recent three posting letters.
The ministry explained that this step is part of efforts to begin the digitisation of personnel records in public secondary schools. The initiative is expected to enhance documentation, boost administrative efficiency, and improve planning within the education sector.
The instruction, communicated through the Chief Inspector of Education (CIE), states that all documents must be submitted within each staff member’s jurisdiction. It also warned that anyone who fails to meet the 48-hour deadline may face disciplinary measures in line with public service regulations.
Chief Inspectors of Education have been assigned to oversee the collection process, including compiling a comprehensive list of staff in their areas, detailing names, qualifications, and subjects taught. They have also been directed to promptly inform school principals and staff to ensure full compliance.
