The Delta State Police Command has taken into custody Pastor Daniel Ololo of Omega Prophetic Prayer Ministry in Sapele, following multiple petitions accusing him of rape, defilement, and sexual assault.
This arrest comes months after a similar allegation made earlier this year was dropped when the accuser retracted her statement.
In a statement, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed that Ololo was apprehended on November 17, 2025, at his church premises by detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
The arrest followed a petition filed on October 13, which alleged he abused his pastoral authority — using “fake prophecy” to seduce vulnerable church members.
Investigators say that one of the key accusations involves carnal relations with three sisters from the same mother, all of whom were members of his congregation, according to the police. The youngest among them is reported to be just 17 years old.
The case has drawn public attention for what observers say may reflect recurring power imbalances in religious settings, where spiritual leaders may exploit their positions to manipulate followers.
In past coverage, the earlier claim that was withdrawn had raised questions about the role of influence and authority in such ministerial dynamics.
Ololo remains in custody while investigations are ongoing, and the police have pledged to probe the matter thoroughly and bring any convicted individuals to justice.
