Delta Police Arrest Three Suspected Armed Robbers for Allegedly Stealing Motorcycle

Three men have been arrested by the Delta State Police Command for allegedly robbing a motorbike rider at gunpoint in Ughelli. According to reports, officers from the Ughelli Area Command tracked down the suspects using reliable intelligence before taking them into custody.

The suspects have been identified as Henry Bernard, 35, Justice Ayero, 39, and Oho Ogbavwomera—all reportedly from Aladja Town in Udu Local Government Area.

Confirming the arrests in a statement released Tuesday in Warri, the spokesperson for the Delta State Police Command, SP Bright Edafe, said the robbery took place on August 25, 2025. The three men allegedly confronted a motorbike rider and forcibly took his motorcycle, which was described as a “lady’s bike.”

Edafe revealed that after carrying out surveillance, officers were able to track down and arrest the suspects. During interrogation, the men allegedly confessed to the crime and later directed investigators to the home of one Mr. Oluwa Felix in the Owawha community.

A search of the house turned up several items suspected to be linked to criminal activities. Among the things recovered—hidden inside a black sack—were a single-barrel gun, a pair of scissors, three torchlights, two hacksaws, a small dagger, and a roll of masking tape.

The suspects are still in police custody as investigations into the case continue. Authorities have also restated their commitment to tackling armed robbery and other related crimes across Delta State.
