Delta Queens have officially sacked their head coach, Keshi, effective immediately. The club took this drastic step following serious allegations of bullying and unprofessional conduct.
This decision marks a major shift for the team as they look to restore discipline within the squad.
The dismissal comes after a string of disappointing performances on the pitch. Although the allegations of misconduct were a primary factor, the team’s recent form also played a role.
The situation reached a breaking point following the club’s Matchday 7 fixture. Delta Queens suffered a frustrating 1-0 home defeat to Abia Angels FC. Consequently, the management decided that a change in leadership was necessary to stop the downward trend.

In a swift move to stabilize the team, the club has appointed Maureen Ajibade as the new Delta Queens coach. Ajibade is expected to take over responsibilities immediately to prepare the players for upcoming fixtures.
The management believes that Ajibade will provide the professional environment needed for the players to thrive. Furthermore, the fans hope that this appointment will bring an end to the internal distractions that have plagued the club recently.
The club has not released further details regarding the specific nature of the bullying allegations. However, the message from the board is clear: unprofessional behavior will not be tolerated.
With the NWFL Premiership currently on a mid-season break, Ajibade will have time to reorganize the team. Her main goal will be to improve the players’ morale and climb back up the league standings when action resumes on February 18, 2026.
