Delta Speaker Urges Nigerians to Unite for a Brighter Future at 65

As Nigeria celebrates its 65th Independence anniversary, the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has called on Nigerians to come together in unity, peace, and shared responsibility to build a fairer and more prosperous nation.

In a goodwill message delivered through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Nkem Nwaeke, Guwor emphasized that everyone—regardless of background or status—has a role to play in shaping a better future for the country. He highlighted the need for national stability, respect for the rule of law, and inclusive governance as key ingredients for long-term development.

Guwor, who also serves as the National Treasurer of the Conference of Speakers of State Houses of Assembly, congratulated Nigerians both at home and abroad. He described the anniversary as a time for reflection—on the journey so far and the hopes that lie ahead.

Reaffirming his commitment to progress, the Speaker noted that the 8th Delta Assembly would continue working closely with other branches of government to promote good governance and fast-track development across the state.

While praising Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for what he called forward-thinking leadership, Speaker Guwor encouraged all Nigerians—especially Deltans—to keep believing in the country and to play an active role in its development.

He stressed that building a stronger Nigeria depends on hard work, access to quality education, innovation, and creating opportunities for everyone, particularly the younger generation.

“May the sacrifices of our past heroes never be forgotten. May Nigeria overcome every challenge and rise to its full potential as the true giant of Africa. Happy 65th Independence Anniversary, Nigeria. God bless Delta State, and God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” the Speaker said.
