Delta Sets Up Local Organising Committee for 2025 National Youth Games

The Delta State Sports Commission has officially created an eight-person Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the upcoming 9th National Youth Games (NYG), which will take place in Asaba.

The 9th National Youth Games will officially start on August 26, with teams from different states coming to Asaba for the event.

The LOC is led by Mr. Onoriode Oborevwori, the Chairman of the Delta State Sports Commission. The committee includes important people from across the state who have experience in sports management and are responsible for organizing and making sure the multi-sport competition runs smoothly.

Some of the key members include Chief Solomon Ogba, who was previously the Delta State Commissioner for Sports and will act as an adviser.

Also part of the committee is Mr. Sam Sodje, a former Super Eagles defender and current board member of the State Sports Commission.

Other members are Mr. Oghale Ofremu and Miss Henrietta Ehiabor, who are both currently on the Sports Commission board.

Also appointed are the immediate past Director General, Mr. Festus Ohwojero, and Mr. Paul Omamomo-Ojo. The Acting Director General, Emuobo Igalase, will be the LOC’s Secretary.

The committee has been given the job of making sure the Games are successful and well-organized.

The Commission has stated its commitment to providing a high-quality sporting experience.
