Delta Speaker, Guwor hails Democracy, urges Nigerians to stay united

Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has enjoined Nigerians to continue to strive for a united, prosperous, and democratic nation.

Rt Hon Guwor made the call in his Goodwill message to the people on the 26th anniversary of the return of democratic governance in Nigeria.

The Speaker in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, CPS, Nkem Nwaeke, stated that the milestone was worth celebrating as it reminds all of their collective strength and resilience as a people.

Guwor noted that post-May 29th 1999 events in Nigeria, called for deep reflection, saying that no matter the challenges, the nation has been on the path of progress since the return of civil rule in the country.

He appealed to key players and all other democratic elements and institutions, not to compromise on the survival and development of democracy in Nigeria.

Rt Hon Guwor who is the National Treasurer, Conference of Speakers of State Houses of Assembly in Nigeria, emphasized the need for all to continue to cherish the nation’s democracy and strive for a better Nigeria.

The Speaker on behalf of the Delta State House of Assembly, conveyed warmest felicitations to Deltans on the 26th anniversary of Nigeria’s democracy and commended the leadership of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for keeping Hope Alive in the state.

Rt Hon Guwor particularly appreciated his constituents of Warri South West, for their trust and support and called for their commitment in building a brighter future for Delta state and Nigeria.

The Speaker prayed that the 26th anniversary shall inspire great hope, unity, and progress in Nigeria.
