The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, has extended warm New Year greetings to residents of the state, expressing optimism for greater progress and prosperity in 2026 under Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Nkem Nwaeke, on Wednesday, Guwor reaffirmed the Assembly’s unwavering commitment to supporting the developmental initiatives of both the state and federal governments in the new fiscal year.

The Speaker, who represents Warri South-West constituency and serves as National Treasurer of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures in Nigeria, commended Governor Oborevwori for his consistent focus on key priorities, including infrastructure development, economic empowerment, social welfare, and good governance.

He predicted that these efforts would yield even more tangible achievements in 2026, urging all stakeholders to renew their dedication to the state’s growth.

“As we bid farewell to 2025, let us welcome 2026 with hope, unity, and resilience,” Guwor said, expressing confidence that the new year would usher in prosperity for Delta State and Nigeria at large.

He prayed for sustained peace and progress in the state, calling on citizens to embrace values of love, compassion, and determination in building a brighter future.

“As we step into a new year, let us recommit to the pursuit of our shared goals of achieving more peace, progress, and development for Delta State. May our collective efforts be guided by resilience, faith, and a determination to make Delta State a better place for all,” the Speaker added.

Guwor wished all Deltans joy, blessings, and a prosperous New Year.
