Delta State CP urges Ika security volunteers to uphold lawfulness

Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Mr. Wale Abass, has advised the Ika security volunteers, to desist from any form of criminal activity.

The CP who disclosed this during a courtsey visit from the Ika security volunteers at his office in Asaba Delta State, Commended them for their dedication and sacrifice. he also pledged an even stronger collaborative relationship and ongoing partnership.

Highlighting the significance of maintaining a pristine reputation, Mr. Abass said, “Members of the society are watching all your movements with the motive of faulting your actions, that is why you must be very careful and avoid anything that will drag your image in the mud.”

CP Abass advised the group to remain vigilant and actively support the police by providing relevant information about criminal hideouts, emphasizing that effective security is rooted in cooperation and synergy.

While Addressing concerns about an alleged special team engaging in extortion in Agbor, Owa, and surrounding areas, the CP urged the volunteer leadership to promptly report any such incidents to the Agbor Area command, as he warned against taking matters into their own hands.

Earlier, the convener of the group and the Executive Assistant on security matters to the Governor of Delta State, Hon. Friday Okoh, thanked the Commissioner of Police CP Abass for the significant strides in various security initiatives across the State.

Okoh further said that the group’s visit as an expression of gratitude and an official introduction aimed at fortifying the established synergy between the volunteers and the Police, as well as other security operatives in the State.
