The Delta State Government has called on young people across the state to take full advantage of the ongoing 90th Regular Recruitment Exercise for Trades and Non-Tradesmen and Women into the Nigerian Army.
The appeal forms part of the state’s broader commitment to promoting youth empowerment, employment creation, and active participation in national service.
Speaking during a sensitization visit on Tuesday by a delegation from the Nigerian Army Headquarters, Abuja, led by Brigadier General Patrick Alimikhena, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr. Kingsley Emu, commended the Nigerian Army for its discipline, professionalism, and dedication to national unity.
Dr. Emu described it as a “thing of pride” for soldiers of Delta origin to serve and defend the nation’s territorial integrity, reaffirming the Oborevwori administration’s continuous support for programs that expand opportunities for young people.
He further disclosed that the state has established a collaborative framework involving traditional rulers, religious leaders, and Local Government Councils to deepen awareness and ensure Delta State meets its allocated quota in the nationwide recruitment drive.
Also speaking, the Commissioner for Youth Development, Barr. ThankGod T. Trakiriowei, lauded the Army delegation for its outreach efforts and revealed that an Enlistment Committee has been inaugurated to coordinate the registration process across the state.
In his address, Brigadier General Alimikhena encouraged Delta youths to embrace the opportunity to serve their country and build rewarding careers within the Nigerian Army.
He announced that the online registration for the 90th Regular Recruitment Exercise began on September 29, 2025, and will close on November 14, 2025, while the physical screening for shortlisted candidates will hold from December 4 to 17, 2025, at the Cenotaph, Asaba.
The sensitization visit, which drew representatives from various youth and community organizations, further highlighted the state government’s strategic commitment to youth inclusion, capacity building, and patriotic service—key pillars of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda.
