Delta State Judiciary begins annual vacation

The Delta State Judiciary will begin its Annual Vacation from Thursday 1st August 2024 to Thursday 25th September, 2024 after which the New Legal Year activities will commence.

This information was disclosed in a Notice issued to this effect by The Chief Judge of Delta State, Hon. Justice Tessy Diai.

According to the Vacation Notice, the Chief Judge in line with Order 45, Rule 4 (2) of the High Court of Delta State (Civil Procedure) Rules, 2009, approved the annual vacation.

The vacation is for the Judges to enjoy their well-deserved rest and to prepare for the tasks and activities of the new Legal Year which commences on Thursday 26th September, 2024.

As stated by the Chief Judge, lawyers and litigants are assured that vacation Judges have been assigned to hear and/or determine only urgent matters and applications.

The Judges shall sit as follows: Asaba for Delta North Senatorial District; Warri for Delta South Senatorial District & Effurun for Delta Central Senatorial District.

Judicial Divisions within the Delta North Senatorial District are advised to continue filing cases manually except Asaba where cases are filed electronically (E-filing).
