Delta State Set for October Monthly Environmental Sanitation on Saturday

The Delta State Government has announced that the monthly environmental sanitation exercise for October will hold across the state on Saturday, October 25, 2025, between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Information in Asaba, both vehicular and human movements will be restricted during the period of the exercise.

Residents have been urged to clean their surroundings, cut overgrown weeds, desilt drains, and ensure proper waste disposal to prevent disease outbreaks. The statement reminded Deltans that it is their civic responsibility to keep at least a 20-metre radius around their premises clean.

The Honourable Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Jamani Tommy Ejiro, will lead officials of the Ministry and other relevant agencies to monitor the exercise across the state to ensure full compliance.

The statement also warned that defaulters would be prosecuted before mobile magistrate courts and fined accordingly.

The government appealed to all residents to actively participate in the exercise to promote a cleaner, healthier, and safer Delta State.
