Delta State Speaker Commends Groups For Leveraging Digital Platforms For Job Creation

Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Right Honourable Emomotimi Guwor, has lauded the organisers of the 3rd edition of the Delta State Social Media Summit, commending their commitment to leveraging digital platforms for sustainable development and job creation.

Speaking during the summit held in Asaba, the state capital, the Speaker, represented by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Nkem Nwaeke, described social media as a powerful tool for economic transformation, political engagement, and cultural promotion in the digital age.

The Speaker emphasised the strategic importance of using social media to project a positive image of Delta State, highlighting the need to showcase the state’s investment potential, cultural heritage, and human capital to the world.

Recognising the role of young people in the evolving digital economy, he urged participants to embrace skill acquisition, digital entrepreneurship, and innovation.

According to him, social media presents endless opportunities for youths to become content creators, marketers, and influencers who can contribute meaningfully to economic diversification and poverty reduction.

He assured that the Delta State House of Assembly, under his leadership, remains committed to creating a favourable legislative environment that promotes digital literacy, access to technology, and the expansion of ICT infrastructure.

Honourable Guwor also called on attendees to fully engage in the summit’s discussions and networking opportunities, adding that such collaborative efforts are vital in building a digitally sharp, economically vibrant, and socially inclusive Delta State.

He commended the summit organisers for their foresight and dedication, expressing optimism that the summit would yield practical solutions to key development challenges facing the State.
