The Honourable Commissioner for Youth Development, Barr. Harry ThankGod Trakiriowei, has hosted the National President of the National Association of Delta State Students (NADESSTU), Comr. Oweiotu-ebi Oyinkare-ebi Joseph, and members of the association’s 30th Anniversary Planning Committee at the Ministry’s headquarters in Asaba.

The courtesy visit focused on the forthcoming 30th anniversary of NADESSTU, a landmark event for the foremost students’ body that has consistently championed the welfare and interests of Delta State students in tertiary institutions across Nigeria and beyond.

Barr. Trakiriowei lauded the leadership of NADESSTU for sustaining an effective platform that promotes student unity, academic excellence, and youth development over the past three decades.

He assured the students of the state government’s readiness to partner with them in initiatives that empower the youth.

“The Ministry of Youth Development stands ready to support initiatives that empower our students and strengthen their capacity to contribute meaningfully to society,” the Commissioner stated.

He charged the planning committee to deliver a befitting celebration that would showcase the achievements and dignity of Delta State students since the association’s inception in 1995.

“As we look forward to the anniversary, I encourage the team to ensure a well-organised and impactful event that reflects the dignity and achievements of Delta students over the past three decades,” he added.

Barr. Trakiriowei reiterated Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s commitment to youth inclusiveness, declaring: “Together, we will continue to build a future where no Delta youth is left behind.”

The NADESSTU delegation expressed gratitude for the warm reception and pledged to work closely with the ministry to make the anniversary a resounding success.
