Deputy Governor Onyeme resolves land dispute crisis between Emu-Ebendo, Obodo Ugwa-Ogume communities in Ndokwa

Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme on Wednesday mediated and resolved the longstanding land dispute between Emu-Ebendo and Obodo Ugwa-Ogume communities in Ndokwa West LGA.

At a meeting in Asaba with representatives of both communities and Energia Limited, Onyeme reaffirmed the Supreme Court ruling recognizing Ebendo as the landlord and Obodo Ugwa as an impacted community.

“As an Ndokwa man, this issue is personal. The Supreme Court has spoken, and its decision stands. Violating it has consequences,” he said, urging both communities to uphold peace for continued development and partnership with Energia.

He directed Energia to maintain the existing sharing formula in the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding.

Energia’s Acting Managing Director, Mr. Oladimeji Bashorun, assured that the current arrangement will not change.

Leaders of both communities—Chief Oju King Nejichi (Obodo Ugwa) and Chief Sunday Enewuzo (Emu-Ebendo)—thanked the state government and pledged to maintain peace and abide by the resolutions.
