DESOPADEC Board Member Olisa Inspires Scholarship Students Ahead of Final Exams

Dr. Charles Olisa, representative of the Ndokwa ethnic nationality on the Governing Board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), has reaffirmed his commitment to education by paying a surprise visit to 20 scholarship beneficiaries at Bellark Polytechnic, Kwale.

The students, who received their awards in February 2024, are currently preparing for their National Diploma (ND) final examinations which commenced this week.

Dr. Olisa, who interacted with the students during the visit on Tuesday, urged them to remain focused and determined, stressing that education remains a vital tool for personal and societal advancement. He encouraged the scholars to not only excel in their current examinations but to also consider advancing to Higher National Diploma (HND) studies.

To further boost their confidence, he distributed cheques to the beneficiaries, ensuring funds were credited into their accounts immediately to ease financial stress during the examination period.

While addressing the students, Dr. Olisa emphasized the value of education with the words: “School is not a scam. Let the school pass through you as much as you pass through the school.”

He also prayed for their success, charging them to become worthy ambassadors of Ndokwa and contribute positively to Delta State and Nigeria at large.

The scholarship program, which covers fields such as Engineering, Management Sciences, and Pure Sciences, has been widely celebrated by Ndokwa leaders, youth groups, and community stakeholders who commended Dr. Olisa for his consistent investment in education and human capital development.

The students themselves expressed deep appreciation for his continuous support, describing the intervention as a timely morale booster.

Dr. Olisa was accompanied by his political family secretary, Barr. Julius Ezinmadu, alongside other dignitaries who witnessed the interaction with the students.
