The Executive Director, Finance and Administration on the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) board, Chief Oghenekome Reginald Okpobor on Sunday 30 November held a strategic meeting with Isoko traditional rulers at the palace of the Ovie of Uzere Kingdom, HRH Isaac Udogri I, JP.
Chief Okpobor, was accompanied by Chief Victor Egbo, the DESOPADEC Commissioner representing the Isoko ethnic nationality at the parley which focused on empowering oil-bearing communities, strengthening critical infrastructure, and advancing the socio-economic wellbeing of Isoko and other oil-producing communities in Delta State.
Addressing the royal fathers, Chief Okpobor emphasized the need to replicate across the state the landmark achievements of Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, noting that sustained collaboration with traditional institutions remains key to delivering inclusive and people-oriented development.
He assured the monarchs that DESOPADEC, under the present administration, is committed to transparent project execution and equitable distribution of amenities in mandate areas.
In their separate remarks, the royal fathers pledged unflinching support for DESOPADEC programmes and promised to continue offering wise counsel to ensure lasting peace and progress in the region.
They particularly commended Chief Okpobor for his passion and selfless service towards improving the living standards of the people, describing him as a worthy son and bridge-builder.
The monarchs prayed for the success of the Oborevwori administration and called for continued synergy between government, DESOPADEC and traditional institutions.
Present at the palace reception were prominent Isoko kings, palace chiefs, community leaders and DESOPADEC officials.
