The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has paid glowing tribute to the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Arthur Akpowowo, describing him as a dependable ally and a critical force behind the legislative achievements of the House.
Guwor made the remarks in a goodwill message to mark Akpowowo’s 54th birthday, celebrated on Wednesday, January 21, 2026. The message was conveyed in a statement released by the Speaker’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Nkem Nwaeke.
The Speaker congratulated his deputy on the milestone, noting that Akpowowo’s dedication, commitment to public service and collaborative spirit have greatly contributed to the successes recorded by the 8th Delta State House of Assembly.
He also commended the Deputy Speaker for what he described as effective and people-focused representation of Ethiope East Constituency, as well as his contributions to the overall development of Delta State.
According to Guwor, the Deputy Speaker’s passion for legislative duties and governance has remained a strong pillar in advancing the work of the Assembly and strengthening democratic processes in the state.

In his birthday message, the Speaker prayed for continued fulfilment and divine guidance in Akpowowo’s life and career.
“On this special occasion, I join his family, friends and well-wishers to celebrate my esteemed Deputy, Rt. Hon. Arthur Akpowowo, as he turns 54,” Guwor said. “I sincerely commend his efforts and commitment to the legislative journey of our state.
“As he marks another year, I pray that God grants him good health, renewed strength and wisdom. May this new age usher in joy, peace and greater fulfilment, and may he continue to inspire those around him. Happy 54th birthday.”
