Ekpan Community Leaders Caution Against Illicit Drug Abuse

The Ekpan Development Committee (EDC) has warned drug cartels operating in the community to refrain from their activities or face severe legal sanctions.

The EDC Chairman, Comrade Victory Nanakparo, handed down the warning during an emergency meeting with Stakeholders in Ekpan including Elders, Women and youths, at Ekpan community Town Hall, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.

The meeting was prompted by growing concerns over young adults and youths engaging in drug abuse and illicit use of substance, peace and security as well as development-related matters in the community.

Comrade Nanakparo emphasized that Ekpan community remains peaceful and will not condone drug abuse activities, as cases of illicit drug dealers are on the rise.
Comrade Nanakparo warned those who sell and buy hard drugs to refrain from such acts, which could ruin the lives of Ekpan’s teeming youths.

He appreciated security officials and stakeholders for their efforts in maintaining peace in the community , and commended Tantita Surveillance Security for their contribution.

The EDC Chairman revealed that a task force committee will be set up to crack down on drug abusers, syndicates, and cartels, ensuring full sanity in the Ekpan community.

Other leaders and stakeholders of the community including the Ighuvwie of Ekpan Community as well as the Eghweya appreciated comrade Victory Nanakparo for his passion for service assuring the EDC Chairman of their support.

The stakeholders advised users of illicit drugs to refrain from the act , adding that the used of it has destroyed most youths in the community.
