Emerhor Calls for Unity at APC Ughelli North Council Inauguration

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State officially launched its Leadership Council, making a strong commitment to securing victory for President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori in the 2027 general elections.

The inauguration, which took place in Evwreni, saw party stalwart Olorogun O’tega Emerhor appointed as Chairman. Other key members include Chief Fred Majemite as First Vice Chairman, Chief Terry Noah as Second Vice Chairman, Chief Festus Agas as Secretary, and Chief Raphael Emecho as Assistant Secretary. Mr. George Oyefia was named Organising Secretary, with Chief Roland Odeni as his assistant. Sir Festus Ahon will serve as Publicity Secretary, while David Edjukonemu and Chief Adjode Prosper were appointed as Ex-Officio members.

Two additional committees were also inaugurated: the Finance and Fundraising Committee, led by Stella Okotete with Mr. Kelly Oghenekevwe as Secretary, and the Elders Committee, chaired by Prof. Samuel Ibodje.

Speaking at the event, Emerhor called on members to view the council as the engine room for political mobilisation. He described the turnout as a clear sign of the APC’s determination to compete and win. “Looking at the crowd here today, it’s clear we’re ready for the road ahead,” he said. “We are prepared physically, financially, and spiritually. There is no fear in Ughelli North. We’re set and ready.”

The Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Area, Olorogun Jaro Egbo, urged party members to maintain discipline, making it clear that no one is above the party. “The party is bigger than any individual it can’t afford to wait for anyone. We’re ready to move forward and work together,” he said.

Other speakers, including Prof. Samuel Ibodje and Morrison Olori, echoed the call for unity and inclusiveness, emphasizing that every member matters and should be respected.

The Leadership Council was officially inaugurated by Hon. Matthew Omonade, who represents Ughelli North Constituency I in the Delta State House of Assembly.
