Emerhor Welcomes Oguma to Evwreni, Calls for Party Unity Ahead of 2027

The founding leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, has taken significant steps to strengthen party unity by officially welcoming a group of new defectors, led by Olorogun John Oguma, at his country home in Evwreni, Ughelli North Local Government Area.

During the meeting with members of Oguma’s political camp, Emerhor assured them that they would be fully included in the party’s activities and decision-making processes, with no fear of being sidelined.

Speaking about the visit, a prominent APC leader in Ughelli South, Chief Ejiro Nomuoja, said, “Olorogun O’tega Emerhor is a gentle and peaceful politician and a bridge builder. His many affiliations, charitable, educational, and political reputation for fairness make him a credible unifier.”

He noted that Emerhor, being the first APC governorship candidate in Delta, has continued to be a key unifying force in the party — particularly after Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and his political structure moved from the PDP to the APC in April 2025.

Olorogun John Oguma, one of the recent defectors to the APC, took the opportunity to commend Emerhor for his steadfast leadership. He stressed the importance of strengthening the party’s presence at the grassroots, ramping up mobilization at the ward and local government levels, and addressing internal issues to stay focused ahead of the upcoming elections.

Emerhor’s strong political background gives added significance to these developments. Born in 1957 in Evwreni, he’s a chartered accountant, successful businessman, and seasoned political figure. He ran for governor on the APC platform in 2015 and is widely regarded as one of the party’s elder statesmen in Delta State.

His warm reception of Oguma and other new members highlights a clear strategy to build a more inclusive and resilient APC as the 2027 general elections approach.
