Rangers International Football Clubs of Enugu, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu Sunday thrashed visiting Warri Wolves by four goals to two.
From the blast of the whistle, Rangers showed dominance of the game and opened scores in the first minute of the first half with a shot from top scorer Godwin Obaje.
Following unrelenting onslaughts, raging Rangers in the 10th minute put in the second goal through Obaje again.
Stung by the goal deficits, Wolves came out smoking in the second half and got their first goal in the 10th minute.But when it looked as if Wolves were going to level up with Rangers in the second half, Rangers charged and put it more goals.
Substitute, Chimobi Igwuilo gave Rangers their third goal, put in the fourth goal to put Rangers far in the lead.
Wolves that were somehow were becoming weak after conceding the fourth goal, gave the second goal at extra time.
With the win, Rangers are now placed on 4th position on the league table with 36 points, while Warri Wolves dropped from 8th position to 10th.
Speaking after the match, Rangers Coach Ilechukwu said their winning came out of consistency, saying that football was all about scoring goals. He further noted that the form Rangers is now, they belong to the winners.
Meanwhile, theCoach of Warri Wolves, Napaleon Aloma, said the Rangers early goal distabilised his team but they were able to rise to the occasion despite the lose.
