Esimaje Awani Defects to ADC

In a significant shift in the political arena of Warri South, activist and former President of the Itsekiri National Youth Council, Barr. Esimaje Awani, on Thursday, officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) together with members of the TEA family.

A large crowd of supporters stormed the GT Event Centre in Ogunu, Warri-South LGA of Delta State, to witness the defection ceremony.

Among his supporters were also Party leaders of ADC, who welcomed Awani, presenting him with his official membership card and flag of the party.

This latest development is coming against the backdrop of Awani joining the race for the Warri Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives in the National Assembly in the upcoming 2027 elections.

In celebration, his supporters described this latest move as the start of a new chapter for the constituency, while some of his followers raised their voter cards into the air, chanting their readiness to vote for Awani.

In his address, Barr. Awani reaffirmed that the African Democratic Congress is a party with a divine mandate to relieve the suffering of the people as a result of poor governance.

He urged the public to be vigilant to ensure their votes count in the upcoming elections.
