Ethiope East LGA Bans Use of Knockouts

Authorities of Ethiope East Local Government has banned the sales and use of knockout and fireworks across the local Government Area during the Yuletide.

‎A statement on behalf of Ethiope East council chairman Honourable Augustine Ogedegbe by the Secretary to the Local Government, Ebojor Ojeh Francis says the ban is aimed at checkmating the activities of criminal minded persons who may want to take advantage of the sound to cause panic and perpetrate criminal activities.

‎The statement adds that apart from ensuring public peace across the local government Area, the ban is also to prevent injuries, fire incidents and other avoidable accidents that could occur due to improper use of the knockout and fireworks.

‎The statement further called on those distributing and are into the sales of knockout and fireworks across the local government Area to withdraw them from public domain as anyone apprehended would be made to face the full wrath of the law.

‎The statement equally advised parents and guardians to caution their children and wards against the use of fireworks and knockouts as violators would be dealt with in accordance with the law.

‎The Statement requested Members of the public to report any sales and use of the banned  items to the law enforcement agencies across the local government Area.
