Ethiope Federal Constituency Leaders Rebuke Representation, Set 2027 Agenda

Political tensions are rising in Delta State as key stakeholders in the Ethiope Federal Constituency have openly expressed dissatisfaction with their House of Representatives member, Hon. Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu.

During a strategic political review meeting held in Eku, Ethiope East, community leaders, youth representatives, and senior politicians lamented what they described as “poor legislative visibility” since her assumption of office.

At the meeting, speakers said the constituency had suffered inadequate advocacy at the National Assembly, accusing their current representative of failing to attract development, defend community priorities, or maintain regular engagement with her constituents.

The gathering unanimously resolved to reorganise political structures in readiness for the 2027 general elections.

Former federal lawmaker, Hon. Halims Agoda, delivered one of the strongest critiques, stressing the urgent need for a more proactive and accountable representative.

“Ethiope deserves a voice that speaks consistently and boldly for its people on the floor of the House. We cannot remain silent or allow ineffective representation,” he said.

Other political heavyweights, including Senator Ighoyota Amori, aligned with this position, reaffirming their commitment to unity within the constituency and the broader political machinery of Delta State.

Speakers also reiterated full support for Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, praising his leadership style and ongoing developmental initiatives.

In a show of political solidarity, stakeholders passed confidence votes in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori, adopting both leaders as their preferred choices for the 2027 elections.

They vowed to deliver strong electoral backing while simultaneously charting a new direction for the constituency’s legislative future.

Participants concluded with a collective pledge: Ethiope Federal Constituency will no longer be politically sidelined. They committed to rallying behind a more effective candidate capable of restoring influence, championing bills, attracting development projects, and ensuring robust representation in the next electoral cycle.
