FG Declares Friday, Monday Easter Holidays

The Federal Government has announced that Friday, 3, and Monday, April 6, 2026, will be public holidays in observance of this year’s Easter celebration.

Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, conveyed this announcement on behalf of the Federal Government through a statement issued by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Dr Magdalene Ajani.

The Minister extended his congratulations to all Christians in Nigeria and around the world on the joyous occasion of Easter, encouraging Nigerians to adopt the values of selflessness, forgiveness, patience, and love as demonstrated by the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.

He emphasised that the government’s objective is to make decisions that will foster national rejuvenation, economic development, and shared prosperity.
