First Lady Oborevwori urges women to foster peaceful homes

Wife of the Delta State Governor and founder of the ‘You Matter Charity Foundation’, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori has emphasized the importance of women in maintaining peaceful homes, which she believes is crucial for a harmonious society, adding that, women are the bedrock of every family.

Deaconess Oborevwori made this statement when she received a courtesy visit from the women’s wing of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Warri South chapter led by Rev. Favour Waye, on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at the Government House in Asaba.

She commended the female clerics and intercessors for their unwavering prayers for families and the state, urging them to show unconditional love to their husbands to ensure continued peace. She stressed that peace is vital for implementing sustainable development in the state and that their efforts at the family level will impact the enhanced peace and security agenda of the Governor Sheriff Oborevwori administration.

The governor’s wife was delighted by the women’s commitment to praying for the success of the current administration and pledged to support their initiatives, encouraging them to remain steadfast.

Earlier, a delegation from Erhuvwu Ladies Club International also paid an appreciation and solidarity visit to Deaconess Oborevwori. Led by Mrs. Gladys Aghogho Puegeren, the group thanked the governor’s wife for her support during their 17th convention in Asaba.

The socio-cultural organization, founded 43 years ago, is a unified club of women from the Isoko and Urhobo ethnic communities. They commended Deaconess Oborevwori’s pet project, the ‘You Matter Charity Foundation’, for its charitable programs, particularly in empowering the girl child.

Deaconess Oborevwori warmly received the club members, urging them to remain committed to their mission and ensure unity across their branches. She also encouraged them to pray for the state government and support the MORE agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori in their various capacities.

She emphasized the need for the club to continue reaching out to vulnerable girls, stating that through collective efforts from various NGOs, the girl child can be empowered, and a deserving future assured.

The visit culminated in the presentation of an award to the governor’s wife, along with other souvenirs.
