Victor Ochei has been elected as the new President of the Nigeria Tennis Federation (NTF), vowing to bring stakeholders together and revitalize the sport for lasting growth across the nation.
The 2025 National Sports Federation elections took place on Saturday at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.
Ochei secured victory with 11 out of 12 possible votes, while Yusuf Datti was returned unopposed as Vice President.
In his remarks, Ochei thanked everyone for the smooth conduct of the election, noting that it demonstrated unity and a collective dedication to developing tennis in Nigeria.
Ochei highlighted his administration’s key goals, emphasizing the need to build a strong support system for players, coaches, and officials at every level of the game.
He added that the Federation would work harder to secure sponsorships and funding while creating long-term career opportunities within the sport.
Recognizing the structural challenges within the Federation, the new NTF President promised to introduce reforms and improve overall efficiency in its operations.
Ochei urged all stakeholders to join forces in returning tennis to its “rightful place” within Nigeria’s sporting scene.
