Former President General of Urhobo Progress Union UPU Chief Joe Omene has called on the Urhobo Nation to continue to be united and work in unison to take the Urhobo Nation to greater heights.
Chief Omene made this known shortly after he emerged as the National President of Traditional Chiefs of Urhobo Land Association TCULA.
The historic event drew attendance of traditional chiefs from the twenty-four kingdoms in Urhobo land.
While inaugurating former UPU President General Chief Joe Omene as the Pioneer National President of Traditional Chiefs of Urhobo Land Association TCULA Chief M.B Akporninor charged him to ensure he continues to promote the well-being of sons and daughters of Urhobos.
Chief Akporninor tasked the Mosogar born philanthropist to join hands with the apex social cultural group in Urhobo land the Urhobo Progress Union UPU in championing the course of peace at all times.
After his elevation as National President of the Traditional Chiefs of Urhobo Land Association TCULA Chief Joe Omene pledged to do all within his strength to continue to work for the peace and progress of Urhobo.
He stated that the Traditional Chiefs of Urhobo Land Association TCULA is birthed to complement the efforts of the UPU in meeting the needs of Urhobo indigenes both at home and in the diaspora and not to go against the apex Urhobo social cultural body.
Other members of the Traditional Chiefs of Urhobo Land Association TCULA who spoke including the Administrative Secretary Chief Terry Ezewu and the National Secretary Olorogun Prince Akpoene said that the Traditional Chiefs of Urhobo Land Association TCULA is an organization that would champion the course of Urhobos and pledged to work with other members in take the association to greater heights.
Various cultural dance groups in Urhobo land such as Ema, Mediaka and Ikenike entertained guests at the event.
Highpoint of the event was the formal inauguration of Chief Joe Omene as National President of Traditional Chiefs of Urhobo Land Association TCULA and twenty-five other members of the group.
