Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Comrade Agbateyiniro Weyinmi Isaac, has appealed to residents to go about their legitimate businesses without fear, assuring that all markets in the area remain open and fully operational.
In a statement issued on Monday, September 22, the council chairman, who also serves as Chief Security Officer of the LGA, dismissed rumours that a particular market in Warri would be shut down, describing the speculation as false and capable of causing unnecessary panic.
He cautioned residents against spreading inciting comments or unverified information, stressing that his administration would not tolerate actions capable of undermining public peace.

Agbateyiniro further reminded residents that the proscription on public processions in Warri South remains in force. He urged community and opinion leaders to maintain law and order in their respective areas.
The council boss commended Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Orohwedor Oborevwori, for swiftly setting up a peace committee to address recent tensions, noting that the governor’s intervention had calmed nerves across the locality.
While encouraging residents to take advantage of the committee’s efforts, he warned that no one would be allowed to take the law into their own hands, as security agencies have been fully mobilised to ensure peace and stability.
