Governor Announces Completion, Commissioning Date for Trans-Warri–Ode-Itsekiri Road

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has announced that the long-awaited Trans-Warri–Ode-Itsekiri Road project will be officially commissioned in the first quarter of next year.

The governor made the announcement in a Facebook post on Thursday, expressing pride in the project’s completion.

He wrote: “We are proud to announce that yesterday marked the completion of the 20.95 km Trans-Warri–Ode-Itsekiri Road, which includes 15 bridges of different sizes. With this development, the project is now essentially complete 19 years after the contract was first awarded.”

Oborevwori described the accomplishment as a historic breakthrough and a significant milestone for the Itsekiri people, noting how important the road is to their connectivity, development, and cultural heritage.

He added simply but powerfully: “A promise made, and a promise kept.”

The governor emphasized that the road will open up new economic opportunities for riverine communities, improve access, and strengthen unity across the state. The commissioning, he assured, will be a moment of pride for both the government and the people of Delta State.
