Governor Oborevwori appoints SSG, Chief of Staff, others
Delta State Governor, Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, on Wednesday approved the appointment of Dr. Kingsley Emu as the Secretary to the State Government (SSG).
Dr. Emu is the immediate past senior economic adviser to former governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
A statement in Asaba by Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Festus Ahon, said that Oborevwori also approved the appointment of Hon. Johnson Erijo as Chief of Staff to the Governor while former managing director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Senator Emmanuel Aguariavwodo was appointed Senior Political Adviser and the immediate past secretary to the Delta State House of Assembly, Mrs. Lyna Aliya-Ochulor was appointed as Principal Secretary to the Governor.
The approval for the latest appointments by the Governor, which took immediate effect, was contained in a statement by the Permanent Secretary, Government House Administration, Sir Eddy Ogidi-Gbegbaje.
Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party in Delta State and a chieftain of the party and former Delta State gubernatorial aspirant, Chief Sunny Onuesoke, have congratulated Dr. Kingsley Emu, on his appointment as the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
The party in a statement, yesterday, by its Publicity Secretary, Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza, felicitated with other notable appointees and party faithful.
The party said it specially expressed gratitude to the governor for his insight and valued consideration in picking the appointees, who have discharged themselves creditably in various spheres of assignments.
Speaking in Asaba, Onuesoke said, ”Dr. Emu is a brilliant scholar and painstaking technocrat. The mix of his highly prized background both in the private sector and public sector, stands him in good stead.
“This is a strong team and we applaud the governor, for the foresight in picking the right calibre of appointees, who are also loyal PDP members.”
In a related development, Governor Oborevwori unfolded his administration’s blueprint to the permanent secretaries and heads of state ministries, departments and agencies at a meeting held at the State Executive Council Chamber of the Government House, Asaba as the new state chief executive strives to keep his promise to ‘hit the ground running’.
