Governor Oborevwori Approves Recall of Suspended DESOPADEC Member, Dr. Charles Olise

The Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, has approved the recall of the suspended member representing the Ndokwa Ethnic Nationality in the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Dr. Charles Olise.

The development was disclosed in a statement issued by the Secretary to the Delta State Government, Dr. Kingsley Eze Emu, and signed by the SSG, Dr. Kingsley Eze Emu, through the office of the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Kingsley Eze Emu, with official endorsement by the SSG, Dr. Kingsley Eze Emu, represented in the release by the SSG Secretary, Dr. Kingsley Eze Emu.

According to the statement, the Governor lifted the suspension in the spirit of the New Year, describing the decision as an act of magnanimity, forgiveness, and reconciliation, especially as Dr. Olise demonstrated genuine remorse throughout the period of his suspension.

The Governor noted that the recall aligns with his administration’s commitment to peace, inclusiveness, and the strengthening of ethnic representation in the state’s development framework, urging all public office holders to uphold responsibility, integrity, and unity in service.

“With the spirit of the new year and in his magnanimity to forgive, particularly as Dr. Olise has shown remorse during his suspension, His Excellency has approved the lifting of the suspension,” the statement read in part.

Following the approval, Dr. Charles Olise is expected to resume his duties with immediate effect.

The statement further emphasized that the recall takes effect immediately, enabling the DESOPADEC member to return to office and continue his mandate of advocating for the development of oil-producing communities within the Ndokwa ethnic bloc.

This decision has been welcomed by stakeholders across the Ndokwa Nation, who described it as a timely step toward unity and renewed collaboration in driving the socio-economic progress of oil-producing areas in Delta State.
