Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has expressed deep sympathy to retired Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Dele Joseph Ezeoba, following the death of his father, Chief Raphael Odiaka Ezeoba.
In a condolence statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, the Governor described the late patriarch as a man of honour who dedicated his life to service, discipline, and integrity, leaving behind a legacy that will long be remembered in Ibusa and beyond.
Oborevwori acknowledged the profound influence of Chief Raphael’s values, noting that they were clearly reflected in the outstanding military career and contributions of Admiral Ezeoba to national development.
He stressed that the passing of such a figure represents not only a personal loss to the family but also a significant one to the Ibusa community and Delta State at large.
“Chief Raphael Ezeoba was a respected community leader whose life of commitment and uprightness touched many,” the Governor said.
“Though his departure is painful, his memory will continue to inspire future generations.”
The Governor urged the bereaved family to draw strength from the fulfilled life their father lived, emphasizing that his enduring principles of discipline and service remain a guiding light.
He prayed for God’s comfort and for the repose of Chief Raphael’s soul.
Extending his condolences, Oborevwori reassured Admiral Ezeoba, members of the Ezeoba family, and the Ibusa community of his solidarity during this difficult period.
Chief Raphael Odiaka Ezeoba’s passing has been described as the end of an era for a man who embodied selflessness and community spirit throughout his lifetime.
