Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has expressed heartfelt sympathy to the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, over the death of his mother, Mama Lydia Yilwatda.
In a condolence message issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, the governor described the late Mama Lydia as a woman of uncommon humility and virtue, who dedicated her life to the service of God and humanity.
“I received with deep sadness the news of Mama Lydia Yilwatda’s transition. She was more than a mother to her immediate family—she was a source of wisdom, love, and prayers to everyone who encountered her,” Oborevwori stated.
The governor highlighted Mama Lydia’s active role in the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN), where she worked alongside her late husband, Reverend Toma Goshewe Yilwatda, in advancing the gospel.
Oborevwori further noted that Professor Yilwatda’s pain was also his own, describing the APC Chairman as a “brother and dependable ally in the service of the people.”
On behalf of his family, the government, and people of Delta State, Governor Oborevwori prayed for divine comfort for the bereaved family, the COCIN community, and the people of Plateau State.
“May Mama Lydia’s soul find eternal rest in the bosom of the Lord,” he added.
