Governor Oborevwori dissolves State Government Commissions, Parastatals, Agencies

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has dissolved the board of all State Government Commissions, Parastatals and Agencies.

This was contained in a statement issued by Dr. Kingsley Emu on Tuesday.

“Chief Executive Officers of the affected Commissions, Parastatals and Agencies are requested to hand over to the administrative heads in their respective offices,” the statement read.

The exempted Commissions, Parastatals and Agencies are the Civil Service Commission, Judicial Service Commission, Delta State Independent Electoral Commission and House of Assembly Service Commission.

Others are Local Government Service Commission, Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Governing Councils of Educational Institutions and Delta State Board of Internal Revenue.

The statement reads in full below:

It is hereby announced for the information of the general public, particularly Deltans, that in exercise of his Constitutional Powers and also, for public interest, His Excellency, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State, has approved the immediate dissolution of the Board of all State Government Commissions, Parastatals and Agencies.

For the purpose of clarity, the dissolution does not affect the following bodies:

I) Civil Service Commission;

II) Judicial Service Commission;

III) Delta State Independent Electoral Commission;

IV) House of Assembly Service Commission;

V) Local Government Service Commission;

VI) Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC);

VII) Governing Councils of Educational Institutions; and

VIII) Delta State Board of Internal Revenue.

By this announcement Chief Executive Officers of the affected Commissions, Parastatals and Agencies are requested to hand over to the administrative heads in their respective offices.
