Governor Oborevwori Tasks Delta Civil Servants On Efficient Service Delivery Towards 2030 SDGs

The Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori on Monday, charged civil servants in the state to recommit to more efficient and impactful service delivery, as the state works toward achieving the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Speaking at the lecture marking the 2025 Civil Service Week Celebration held at the Unity Hall Government House Asaba, themed “Five Years to 2030: Accelerating Public Service Delivery for a Sustainable Future,” Governor Oborevwori described the civil service as the backbone of government and emphasized the need for innovation, discipline, and dedication.

Governor Oborevwori reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to public service reform through the MORE Agenda, emphasizing human capital development and staff welfare.

Oborevwori said, “Today, I officially declared open the Delta State Public Service Week with the theme: “Five Years to 2030: Accelerating Public Service Delivery for a Sustainable Future.”

“A strong public service is the backbone of successful governance. Therefore, this year’s Public Service Week is a call to assess our progress, confront challenges, and strategise for more efficient and impactful service delivery to our people.

“I am particularly delighted with the choice of Guest Lecturer, Sir Olusegun Adekunle, OON, MNI, a retired Federal Permanent Secretary.

“I wish our loyal, dedicated, and committed public servants a successful week.”

Highlighting ongoing investments in modern skills and practices to build a proactive, innovative, and responsive workforce, Oborevwori urged civil servants to reciprocate these efforts with loyalty, professionalism, and alignment with government policies and goals.
