Guinness World Record: Delta Poly students attempt longest cooking marathon by a team

Tessy Ozotha, a Higher National Diploma (HND) 1 student in the Department of Business Administration at Delta State Polytechnic, Oghara, is on the brink of setting a new Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by a team.

The ambitious 80-hour cook-a-thon is currently being held at the Athletic Club in Sapele.

Ozotha and her team have successfully cooked for 68 hours and are on track to complete the full 80-hour marathon by 8 a.m. tomorrow.

The event, which started with eight participants, now has five remaining cooks.

Besides Ozotha, the dedicated team members still in the competition are Okoro Oghenekevwe, Adjekukor Flourish, Eferusuoa Hope, and Utoro Favour.

The three members who were unable to continue are Atagamen Joy Omolola, Iguele Celyn, and Obruche Best.

The cook-a-thon has drawn significant local attention and support as the team works tirelessly to achieve this remarkable feat.

The school community eagerly awaits the completion of the event, which promises to place Delta State Polytechnic, Oghara, and the town of Sapele in global spotlight.
